BIRMINGHAM, Alabama The Committee to Develop Birmingham this morning held a press conference to call upon five state legislators to repudiate a recent comment by Alabama State Rep. Patricia Todd, who is white, that referred to two African American legislators from Jefferson County as "rogue" delegation members.

The committee's complaint was aimed at comments made by Todd during a July 30 meeting with state Superintendent Tommy Bice who explained why the state intervened in Birmingham city schools. "We feel that this is her prerogative but when she has the unmitigated gall to refer to two African American legislators who consistently represents the interest of Adidas Neo White Black their constituents and speak out against the special interest that control African American representatives, we will not stand by and allow her to impugn their character by referring to them as "rogue" representatives," he stated in a prepared release.
"We feel like Ms. Todd has no right to impugn their character," said William Muhammad, chairman of the Committee to Develop Birmingham.
